MISSION
The Institute aims at exploring ways to achieve perfect harmonization among science, nature and human society by pooling ideas of top-ranking scientists of different professions through their interdisciplinary participation. The programs of the Institute include organization of international seminars and workshop, assistance to young prominent researchers in their career development through international exchange program as well as financial assistance to their research.
Through these activities the Institute aims to contribute to the promotion of science which serves as a base for the progress and welfare of human society.

ACTIVITIES
  • RESEARCH COMMITTEES
ATI establishes focused research committees composed of leading scientists in
various fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology to study unique subjects on an interdisciplinary basis.
  • ASSISTANCE TO RESEARCH
ATI assists promising young researchers by providing grants for new research
    programs.
  • ATI INTERNATIONAL FORUMS
International Forums are held under cosponsorship of ATI to introduce the results of study in ATI’s Research Committee. It helps interchanging opinions between scientists in Japan and overseas
  • PUBLIC LECTURES-ATI FORUMS
ATI organizes public lectures named ATI Forum to introduce new scientific trends and current cultural topics.

In order to provide a strong, unified focus for its unique activities, Nano-processing was adopted as ATI's keyword, as of April, 2003.

ATI defines Nano-processing as the new research of methods to formulate nano-meter scale scientific and technology system including new measurement, analysis, and processing concepts necessary to realize new structures and functions. The scope of Nano-processing also include basic physics and chemistry processing methods along with the related technologies required for industry application.
